The third generation of the Bachmann company was run by Hans Doerbaum as a sawmill business only. During his management the company using the BaRo shipping mark acquired an international reputation for quality beech planking. He was assisted in the running of the sawmill etc. by his wife Margitta and his son Marc. Marc has now taken the the reins of family run business into the fourth generation.
In the 1980's, the Bachmann company and Trunkstyle Ltd, a UK based Timber Agent, formed a very close business relationship and also formed a very good and lasting personal relationship. The 2 companies worked very closely together until 2017 when Trunkstyle owners retired.
Timber from the Bachmann mill is shipped to importers and merchants in the UK, and also to other customers around the world. It is shipped under the BaRo shipping mark. This is made up from the Family names of the 2 companies Bachmann, and Rogers, the family who owned Trunkstyle Ltd. The Bachmann sawmill is family owned and run. The mill specializes in European Beech in a variety of forms. The team of Trunkstyle and Bachmann worked closely together since the early 1980s. Shipping under the BaRo label, was originally just to the UK. However, the team believe they were the forerunners in the export of edged European Beech Lumber outside of Europe, to Australia in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Since then many worldwide shipments have been made.
